Troubleshooting

  1. The ReLeaf adaptor feels loose when I insert it into the HVE (High-Volume Evacuator). What should I do?

    If the adaptor feels loose when connected to your HVE, it's likely that the O-ring inside the HVE is worn out or missing. We recommend replacing the O-ring to ensure a secure and proper fit. A fresh O-ring helps maintain a tight seal and optimal performance of the ReLeaf system.

  2. What should I do if a patient experiences tooth sensitivity while using ReLeaf?

    If a patient reports sensitivity during use, you can gently roll and apply a piece of gauze over the sensitive teeth to create a protective barrier. Additionally, you can slightly close down the HVE valve to reduce suction intensity, which can also help minimize discomfort while still maintaining effective isolation.

  3. My U-Bend and ReLeaf keep slipping out of the patient’s mouth. What should I do?

    This usually indicates that the Leaf size is too large for the patient’s mouth. Switching to the Mini Leaf typically resolves this issue, providing a more secure and comfortable fit for smaller arches or tighter oral anatomy.

  4. What can I do if the ReLeaf keeps suctioning onto a patient’s cheek or loose skin during hygiene procedures?

    Some patients, especially older individuals who have flaccid buccal mucosa or prominent buccal fat pads, may experience the ReLeaf leaf attaching to their cheek tissue. To prevent this, you can place a 2x2 gauze or a Dry Angle between the patient’s cheek and the leaf. This small barrier helps maintain proper airflow and suction performance while protecting delicate or loose skin from being pulled into the leaf.

  3. Proper Releaf Restorative Position

    Ensure the long end of the Restorative Leaf wraps around the retromolar area on the quadrant you are working on. To assist in evacuation, when a small amount of water and saliva build up behind the Restorative Leaf, have the patient slowly push their tongue against the Leaf while closing down on the Bite Block. This will evacuate any remaining water that flows behind the Leaf.
